Description

A refreshing and smooth homemade Vanilla Iced Latte made with rich espresso, sweet vanilla syrup, and your choice of milk, perfect for a quick energizing treat or a delightful coffee break.

Ingredients

Vanilla Syrup

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla bean paste

Latte

  • 3 ounces espresso (2 shots) or ½ cup strong coffee
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 4-6 ounces milk of choice (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Make Vanilla Syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and water. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally until the sugar fully dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla bean paste thoroughly. Let it cool if not using immediately or store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator.
  2. Brew Coffee: Prepare 3 ounces of fresh espresso (about 2 shots) or brew ½ cup of strong coffee. You can also use cold brew concentrate if preferred.
  3. Combine Latte: Pour the brewed espresso or coffee into a tall glass. Add 2 tablespoons of the prepared vanilla syrup, adjusting more or less to your preferred sweetness.
  4. Add Ice and Milk: Fill the glass with ice cubes as desired to chill the drink. Top off with 4 to 6 ounces of your preferred milk, such as dairy, almond, oat, or soy milk. Stir gently to blend all the flavors evenly before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness and milk quantity according to personal taste preferences.
  • Vanilla syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Use freshly brewed espresso for the best flavor, but strong brewed coffee or cold brew concentrate work well as alternatives.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute milk with almond, oat, or soy milk.
  • Use vanilla bean paste for an intense and natural vanilla flavor instead of vanilla extract.
