Description

A quick and flavorful Spicy Honey Mustard sauce that balances creamy mayo, tangy mustards, sweet honey, and a spicy kick from cayenne pepper and hot sauce. Perfect as a dipping sauce or condiment for chicken tenders, burgers, wraps, and vegetables.

Ingredients

Spicy Honey Mustard Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 4 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 Tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ Tbsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot or your preferred brand)
  • 2-4 Tbsp honey (adjust to taste)
  • 1-4 Tbsp water (optional, to thin the sauce)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper, hot sauce, and honey.
  2. Whisk Until Smooth: Whisk all ingredients thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Adjust Consistency: Gradually add 1 to 4 tablespoons of water, one tablespoon at a time, to thin the sauce to your desired consistency.
  4. Season to Taste: Taste the sauce and add more honey to increase sweetness or more cayenne pepper and hot sauce if you prefer extra spiciness.
  5. Serve: Use immediately as a dipping sauce for chicken tenders or veggies, or as a flavorful spread on turkey burgers or honey mustard chicken wraps.

Notes

  • You can adjust the heat by adding more or less cayenne pepper and hot sauce according to your spice preference.
  • Add honey gradually to achieve your preferred sweetness level.
  • This sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a thinner sauce, water is added gradually; alternatively, a little milk or buttermilk can be used for variation.
