Description

Deliciously tender and flavorful Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs slow-cooked to perfection in a sweet and savory sauce made from honey, garlic, soy sauce, and ketchup. This easy, hands-off recipe is perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner and pairs wonderfully with steamed white rice.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 6 boneless skinless chicken thighs

Sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons green onion, sliced (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker: Spray a 5 quart or larger slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place the chicken thighs in a single layer at the bottom of the slow cooker insert.
  2. Make the sauce: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, honey, ketchup, soy sauce, and sliced green onions until well combined.
  3. Combine and cook: Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the chicken thighs in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours or on LOW for 6 hours until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  4. Serve: Serve the honey garlic chicken thighs over steamed white rice. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and additional sliced green onions on top for garnish and extra flavor. Enjoy your meal!

Notes

  • Use boneless, skinless chicken thighs for best results and even cooking.
  • Honey adds natural sweetness and helps create a nice glaze on the chicken.
  • Green onions add a fresh, mild onion flavor and brightness to the sauce.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the chicken after cooking and reduce the sauce on the stovetop before serving.
  • Any leftover chicken can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently before serving.
