Description

This easy Oreo Dump Cake recipe combines layers of chocolate Oreo cookies, sweetened condensed milk, cool whip, and chocolate fudge cake mix, baked to a gooey and delicious dessert that’s perfect for any occasion. With minimal prep and no mixing required, it’s an effortless treat that tastes decadent and indulgent.

Ingredients

Cookies

  • 20 – 28 Oreo cookies, divided

Dairy and Fillings

  • 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 oz. cool whip, thawed
  • ½ cup (113 g) cold butter, evenly sliced
  • ¼ – ½ cup (57 – 113 g) butter, melted

Dry Mix

  • 15.25 oz. chocolate fudge cake mix

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Lightly grease an 11 x 7 or 9 x 13 inch baking dish using a tablespoon of butter to prevent sticking.
  2. Spread Oreo Cookies: Evenly spread the chocolate Oreo cookies across the bottom of the prepared pan. Depending on the pan size, this will be 18 to 22 cookies.
  3. Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Evenly pour the sweetened condensed milk over the Oreo cookie layer, ensuring all cookies are covered.
  4. Spread Cool Whip: Evenly spread the thawed cool whip across the sweetened condensed milk-covered cookies, creating a smooth layer.
  5. Add Cake Mix: Evenly spread the chocolate fudge cake mix on top of the cool whip and cookie layers, distributing it uniformly.
  6. Top with Butter: Arrange slices of cold butter evenly across the dry cake mix, attempting to cover as much of the surface as possible. Drizzle the melted butter in between the slices for added richness.
  7. Garnish: Sprinkle 4 to 6 crushed Oreo cookies over the entire top layer to add texture and enhance flavor.
  8. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the sweetened condensed milk bubbles around the edges and the top appears lightly caramelized.
  9. Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Scoop portions into bowls and optionally top with ice cream for an extra indulgent treat. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a baking dish size between 11 x 7 and 9 x 13 inches as specified for best results.
  • Butter amount can be adjusted within the range to control richness and texture.
  • Allow the dessert to cool slightly before serving to let it set for easier scooping.
  • For variation, try different flavored Oreos or add nuts for crunch.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and gently reheated before serving.
