Description

These Orange Creamsicle Popsicles are a refreshing, healthy treat that perfectly blends fresh orange juice with creamy vegan Greek yogurt and a touch of vanilla. Naturally sweetened with pure maple syrup and enhanced with bright orange zest, these popsicles capture the nostalgic flavor of a classic creamsicle in a guilt-free, dairy-free version. Perfect for a hot day or a wholesome dessert, they’re easy to make with just a few simple ingredients and require no special equipment beyond popsicle molds.

Ingredients

Orange Creamsicle Base

  • 2 cups pure orange juice
  • Zest from 1 orange (about 1-2 tablespoons)
  • 3/4 cup vegan Greek yogurt (unsweetened, plain)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Zest the Orange: Use a fine grater or microplane to zest one orange, carefully avoiding the bitter white pith. Collect 1 to 2 tablespoons of zest depending on your desired intensity of orange flavor.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Place the orange juice, orange zest, vegan Greek yogurt, pure maple syrup, fresh lemon juice, vanilla bean paste, and a pinch of salt into a blender. Blend for 10 to 15 seconds until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Adjust yogurt quantity if desired for texture and flavor balance.
  3. Pour Into Molds: Pour the smooth mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a little room at the top. Insert popsicle sticks securely into each mold.
  4. Freeze Solid: Place the molds in the freezer and freeze for at least 6 hours or until the popsicles are completely solid. The texture will be a perfect combination of icy and slightly creamy.

Notes

  • You can adjust the yogurt amount to change the creaminess and flavor strength—use less for icier, bolder orange flavor and more for creamier texture.
  • If you don’t have vanilla bean paste, vanilla extract can be used as a substitute.
  • For a sweeter popsicle, increase the maple syrup slightly, or reduce it for less sweetness.
  • Make sure not to include the orange pith when zesting to avoid bitterness.
  • Store the popsicles in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to one month for best freshness.
