Ingredients
Sautéed Apples
- 2 Honeycrisp apples, peeled and diced
- 2 tbsp salted butter
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Ice Cream
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 5 graham crackers, separated
Caramel Drizzle
- Caramel sauce for drizzling (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Sauté Apples: Add the diced apples, butter, light brown sugar, and cinnamon to a pan over low to medium heat. Cook for 8-10 minutes until the apples have softened and the sauce has thickened. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
- Whip Cream: Pour the heavy cream into a large mixing bowl and whip with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form, ensuring a light and airy texture.
- Combine Ingredients: Gently fold in the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla bean paste, cinnamon, cooled sautéed apples, and 3 crushed graham cracker sheets into the whipped cream. Be careful not to overmix to retain airiness.
- Layer Ice Cream: Transfer half of the ice cream mixture to a loaf pan. Sprinkle 1 crushed graham cracker sheet on top, then drizzle caramel sauce evenly. Repeat layering with the remaining ice cream mixture, another crushed graham cracker sheet, and a final caramel drizzle.
- Freeze: Cover the loaf pan tightly with aluminum foil and place in the freezer for 4-5 hours until the ice cream is completely firm.
- Serve: Remove from the freezer, let sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly. Scoop the ice cream and serve immediately for a perfect creamy and flavorful dessert.
Notes
- Ensure the sautéed apples are fully cooled before folding into the cream to prevent melting.
- For best results, use Honeycrisp or similarly sweet, crisp apples.
- If you prefer a stronger caramel flavor, swirl extra caramel sauce into the ice cream layers.
- Store leftover ice cream tightly covered in the freezer to maintain texture.
- You can substitute graham crackers with digestive biscuits if preferred.
