Description
This Whipped Feta Dip with Garlic Honey is a creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet appetizer perfect for parties or casual gatherings. The smooth whipped feta and cream cheese base is topped with a warm, spicy garlic honey mixture and garnished with crunchy pistachios and fresh parsley, making it an irresistible dip to serve with toasted bread or crackers.
Ingredients
Whipped Feta Dip
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 ounces feta cheese, room temperature
- 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Garlic Honey Topping
- 5 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Garnish
- 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios
- 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the Garlic Honey: Heat a small saucepan over medium heat and add a small amount of olive oil. Add the finely minced garlic and sauté for about 2 minutes until softened, taking care not to brown the garlic. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds to release their aroma. Stir in the honey and remove from heat before the honey begins to bubble. Set aside to cool while preparing the dip.
- Whip the Feta Dip: In a food processor, combine the olive oil, room temperature feta cheese, cream cheese, and fresh lemon juice. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy, about 1 minute.
- Assemble the Dip: Transfer the whipped feta mixture to a serving platter. Use the back of a spoon to create indentations or a small well in the center of the dip.
- Add the Garlic Honey and Garnish: Slowly drizzle the cooled garlic honey over the whipped feta, allowing it to pool in the indentations. Sprinkle the top with chopped pistachios and fresh parsley for garnish.
- Serve: Serve immediately with toasted bread or crackers for dipping.
Notes
- Ensure the garlic is cooked gently to avoid bitterness from burning.
- Use room temperature cheeses to achieve a smoother whip.
- The dip can be made a few hours in advance and refrigerated; add the honey topping just before serving.
- Substitute pistachios with walnuts or almonds if preferred.
- Adjust the red pepper flakes for desired spiciness.
