Description

A simple and fresh strawberry jam made with just three ingredients: strawberries, sugar, and lemon. Perfect for spreading on toast or using in desserts.

Ingredients

  • For the Jam:
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 cups chopped fresh strawberries

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sugar Mixture: Add the sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest to a medium saucepan over low heat. Cook and stir the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Cook the Strawberries: Add the chopped strawberries to the pan and continue to cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, until the mixture comes to a low boil. It should thicken slightly and have the consistency of loose jam.
  3. Cool: Remove the pan from the heat and allow the jam to cool for about 15 minutes.
  4. Jar the Jam: Transfer the cooled jam to 2 pint jars and seal with lids.
  5. Store: Store the jam in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
