Description

This Spicy Feta Dip is a creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy appetizer that’s perfect for parties or casual snacking. Made with roasted red peppers, feta cheese, Greek yogurt, and a touch of sweetness, it’s blended until smooth and finished with red pepper flakes for an extra kick. Serve chilled with veggies, crackers, or pita bread for a delightful and easy-to-make dip.

Ingredients

Dip Ingredients

  • 1 cup roasted red peppers (large dice)
  • 16 ounces feta cheese (cut into large chunks)
  • ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt (recommended: whole milk)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional – for spice)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the roasted red peppers, feta cheese, Greek yogurt, and sugar to a food processor, preparing the base for the creamy dip.
  2. Pulse Mixture: Pulse the ingredients for 10-15 seconds to begin breaking down the solids and combine flavors.
  3. Blend with Olive Oil: Turn the food processor on and slowly pour in the olive oil while it runs, allowing the mixture to emulsify smoothly.
  4. Blend Until Smooth: Continue blending until the dip is fully smooth and creamy, with no large chunks remaining.
  5. Add Spice and Chill: Transfer the dip to a bowl, stir in the optional red pepper flakes for heat, cover, and refrigerate for one hour to let the flavors meld and the dip chill.
  6. Serve: Serve the chilled dip with an assortment of fresh veggies, crackers, or pita bread for dipping.

Notes

  • Use whole milk Greek yogurt for a richer texture; low-fat options will result in a lighter dip.
  • Adjust the red pepper flakes according to your preferred spice level or omit for a milder flavor.
  • Roasted red peppers can be homemade or store-bought jarred peppers, drained before use.
  • For a smoother dip, blend longer or add a splash of water or extra olive oil to achieve desired consistency.
  • Best served chilled, but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
