Description
Soft Rice Krispie Bars are ultra-gooey and sweet cereal treats made extra soft with the addition of sweetened condensed milk. A quick no-bake dessert perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 bag (10 ounces) miniature marshmallows
- 6 cups (174 g) rice cereal
Instructions
- Spray an 8×8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
- In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add sweetened condensed milk and stir continuously until the mixture begins to simmer.
- Stir in the marshmallows and cook, stirring frequently, until fully melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and fold in the rice cereal with a greased rubber spatula until well coated.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press it into an even layer.
- Let the bars cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cutting and serving.
Notes
- Spray the spatula with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
- Don’t press the mixture too firmly into the pan or the bars may become dense.
- For best texture, do not refrigerate—let cool at room temperature.
