Description

Soft Rice Krispie Bars are ultra-gooey and sweet cereal treats made extra soft with the addition of sweetened condensed milk. A quick no-bake dessert perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) miniature marshmallows
  • 6 cups (174 g) rice cereal

Instructions

  1. Spray an 8×8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. Add sweetened condensed milk and stir continuously until the mixture begins to simmer.
  4. Stir in the marshmallows and cook, stirring frequently, until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in the rice cereal with a greased rubber spatula until well coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press it into an even layer.
  7. Let the bars cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cutting and serving.

Notes

  • Spray the spatula with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
  • Don’t press the mixture too firmly into the pan or the bars may become dense.
  • For best texture, do not refrigerate—let cool at room temperature.
