Ingredients
Butter and Sugars
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- ⅔ cup granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup packed light brown sugar
Wet Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cups all purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Add-ins
- ½ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped peanuts (salted or unsalted)
- 1 cup chopped Snickers bars, plus extra for topping
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 350℉ and position the oven rack in the middle. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or spray it with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: Using a stand mixer or electric hand mixer, cream together ½ cup unsalted butter, ⅔ cup granulated sugar, and ⅓ cup light brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract into the creamed butter and sugar mixture until fully incorporated.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: Gradually add 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon baking soda to the wet mixture. Stir just until the dry ingredients are fully combined with the wet ingredients.
- Fold in Add-ins: Gently stir in ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, ½ cup chopped peanuts, and 1 cup chopped Snickers bars until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
- Scoop Cookies: Using a 1 ½ tablespoon spring-loaded cookie scoop or spoon, drop cookie dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet. Leave enough space between each cookie to allow spreading. You may need to bake in batches.
- Add Toppings: Place 2-4 small pieces of chopped Snickers on top of each cookie dough ball to enhance the chocolate and caramel flavor.
- Bake the Cookies: Bake the cookies on the middle rack for about 12 minutes. For best texture and even baking, bake only one sheet at a time.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the cookies to cool before transferring them to a wire rack. Enjoy the chewy, chocolately, peanut buttery delight!
Notes
- Using salted peanuts adds a nice contrast to the sweetness, but unsalted can be used to control sodium.
- Chopping the Snickers bars into small pieces ensures even distribution of caramel and nougat in every bite.
- Do not overmix the dough once the flour is added to keep the cookies tender and chewy.
- Baking one sheet at a time allows for even cooking and consistent results.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or freeze for longer storage.
