Description

This quick and flavorful sheet pan Sesame Beef and Broccoli is made with tender sirloin steak, roasted broccoli, and a savory-sweet sesame soy sauce — a 20-minute meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 1/4 lbs boneless beef sirloin steak, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Lightly grease a rimmed baking sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, olive oil, vinegar, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add broccoli to the sauce, toss to coat, and transfer to the baking sheet.
  4. Add steak to the same sauce, toss, and place on the baking sheet with broccoli.
  5. Roast for 10–14 minutes, until steak is cooked through and broccoli is tender.
  6. Remove from oven, transfer to a serving plate, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
  7. Serve hot over rice.

Notes

  • Use tamari for a gluten-free version.
  • Swap beef with chicken or tofu if desired.
  • Double the sauce and reserve half for drizzling after baking.
