Description
This quick and flavorful sheet pan Sesame Beef and Broccoli is made with tender sirloin steak, roasted broccoli, and a savory-sweet sesame soy sauce — a 20-minute meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari)
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1 1/4 lbs boneless beef sirloin steak, cut into 2-inch pieces
- Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
- Green onions, sliced, for garnish
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Lightly grease a rimmed baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, olive oil, vinegar, sugar, and salt.
- Add broccoli to the sauce, toss to coat, and transfer to the baking sheet.
- Add steak to the same sauce, toss, and place on the baking sheet with broccoli.
- Roast for 10–14 minutes, until steak is cooked through and broccoli is tender.
- Remove from oven, transfer to a serving plate, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
- Serve hot over rice.
Notes
- Use tamari for a gluten-free version.
- Swap beef with chicken or tofu if desired.
- Double the sauce and reserve half for drizzling after baking.
