Description

These quick and easy sautéed green beans are cooked with garlic, lemon, and a touch of butter for a bright, flavorful side dish. Ready in just 10 minutes, they’re perfect for busy weeknights or holiday meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add trimmed green beans. Season with sea salt and black pepper. Sauté for 4 minutes, until bright green and slightly underdone.
  3. Push green beans to the edges of the pan and create a well in the center. Add butter and let it melt.
  4. Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Stir garlic and green beans together until evenly coated.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the green beans—they should be tender-crisp for the best texture and flavor.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Try topping with grated Parmesan for extra richness.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor.
