Description
This light and tasty orzo pasta makes for a delicious and quick side dish. It’s flavored with fresh lemon juice, parmesan cheese, and herbs, making it the perfect companion to a variety of mains.
Ingredients
- 8 oz orzo pasta, uncooked
- 2 tsp salt (for boiling water)
- ¼ cup butter, salted
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
- ¼ cup parsley, freshly chopped
- ½ tsp black pepper, freshly cracked
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add 2 tsp of salt.
- Cook the orzo pasta in the salted water until al dente, about 12 to 15 minutes.
- Drain the orzo pasta and return it to the hot pan.
- Immediately stir in the butter and lemon juice until fully incorporated.
- Stir in the parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and black pepper.
- Taste and season with additional salt if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

- Use freshly grated parmesan for best flavor and texture.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
