Description
A simple and flavorful lemon garlic shrimp dish, cooked in olive oil, butter, and garlic, and finished with a fresh lemon zest and juice. Perfect for a quick dinner or as a topping for pasta, rice, or salads.
Ingredients
- For the Shrimp:
- 2 pounds medium shrimp (peeled and deveined, thawed if frozen)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ¼ cup butter
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 lemon (zested and juiced)
- Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper (to taste)
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Prepare the Shrimp: Peel and devein the shrimp if not already done. Set aside.
- Cook the Shrimp: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and cook until melted. Stir in the garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the pan: Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and are no longer translucent.
- Finish the Dish: Stir in the lemon juice and zest. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
Notes
- For added flavor, try serving the shrimp over a bed of pasta or rice, or alongside a fresh salad.
- If you prefer a spicier dish, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes when cooking the garlic.
