Description

A simple and flavorful lemon garlic shrimp dish, cooked in olive oil, butter, and garlic, and finished with a fresh lemon zest and juice. Perfect for a quick dinner or as a topping for pasta, rice, or salads.


Ingredients

  • For the Shrimp:
  • 2 pounds medium shrimp (peeled and deveined, thawed if frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)
  • Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper (to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp: Peel and devein the shrimp if not already done. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Shrimp: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and cook until melted. Stir in the garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp to the pan: Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and are no longer translucent.
  4. Finish the Dish: Stir in the lemon juice and zest. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try serving the shrimp over a bed of pasta or rice, or alongside a fresh salad.
  • If you prefer a spicier dish, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes when cooking the garlic.
