Ingredients
- 2/3 cup (133.33 g) allulose sweetener
- 1/3 cup (66.67 g) brown sugar replacement
- 1/2 cup (118.29 ml) water
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons maple extract
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- In a heavy-duty saucepan over medium heat, combine the allulose and brown sugar replacement with water. Bring to a boil, whisking until the sweeteners are fully dissolved.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes. Watch closely to prevent burning.
- Add the butter and whisk until fully melted and incorporated.
- Return to a simmer and cook until the syrup starts to thicken and darken slightly in color.
- Remove from heat and whisk in the maple extract and a pinch of salt, if using.
- Allow to cool to room temperature, then transfer to a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid for storage.
Notes
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month in a sealed glass jar.
- The syrup will firm up in the fridge; reheat gently in small portions, stirring until smooth.
- Allulose is recommended for its ability to create a syrupy texture without crystallizing.
