Description

Healthy Burger Bowls with Special Sauce are a delicious, low-carb alternative to traditional burgers. Packed with fresh vegetables and flavorful seasoned ground beef, these bowls are easy to prepare and topped with a creamy, tangy special sauce. Perfect for a Whole30, Paleo-friendly, and low-carb meal that satisfies your burger cravings without the bun.

Ingredients

For the Burger Meat

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Salad

  • Romaine lettuce (enough for 4 bowls, about 4 cups chopped)
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced

For the Special Sauce

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon pickle juice
  • 1 tablespoon dill relish
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef along with onion powder, dried oregano, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Brown the beef thoroughly while breaking it up with a spatula, cooking until no pink remains and the beef is fully cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  2. Make the Special Sauce: While the beef cooks, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, pickle juice, dill relish, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in a small bowl. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.
  3. Assemble the Burger Bowls: Divide chopped romaine lettuce into serving bowls. Layer with chopped tomatoes, sliced pickles, thinly sliced red onions, and the cooked ground beef. Drizzle each bowl generously with the prepared special sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy your healthy burger bowls!

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • For extra crunch, add sliced cucumbers or shredded carrots to the salad.
  • The special sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Adjust the seasoning in the meat to your taste preference.
  • These bowls can be served warm or at room temperature depending on preference.
