Description

This Greek Yogurt Ice Cream recipe is a healthy and delicious frozen treat that requires only three simple ingredients. With a creamy texture and perfectly balanced sweetness, it delivers 15 grams of protein per serving. Easily made in a Ninja Creami for a smooth, creamy consistency or prepared using a traditional freezer method, this dessert is gluten free, vegetarian, and perfect for a refreshing summer indulgence.

Ingredients

Ice Cream Base

  • 3 cups vanilla whole milk Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Whisk together the vanilla Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated to create the ice cream base.
  2. Freeze (Ninja Creami Method): Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container and freeze for 8 hours or overnight to set the ice cream thoroughly.
  3. Process in Ninja Creami: Place the frozen pint container into the Ninja Creami machine and use the ‘Ice Cream, Full’ setting to churn until creamy and smooth. Add your favorite toppings and serve immediately.
  4. Freeze (Classic Method): If you don’t have a Ninja Creami, pour the mixture into a loaf pan, cover tightly with an airtight lid or plastic wrap, and freeze for 8 hours or overnight.
  5. Serve Classic Version: When ready to serve, allow the ice cream to thaw for 15-20 minutes to soften, then break it up gently with a spoon before scooping. Add toppings of your choice and enjoy.

Notes

  • This recipe contains no added sugar aside from the natural sweetness of the maple syrup, making it a healthier alternative to traditional ice creams.
  • The Ninja Creami method yields a smoother, creamier texture but the classic method still produces a delicious frozen treat.
  • Vanilla whole milk Greek yogurt provides the best creamy consistency and flavor.
  • Feel free to add mix-ins or toppings like fresh fruit, nuts, chocolate chips, or honey for variety.
  • Allow the ice cream to soften slightly after freezing for easier scooping and better texture.
