Description

A creamy and flavorful Garlic Parmesan Beef Pasta recipe that combines tender ground beef, garlic, and a rich parmesan cream sauce with rotini pasta. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s a perfect comforting meal for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 10 ounces dried rotini pasta (2.5 cups – measured before cooking)

Beef Mixture

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup finely chopped onion
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Sauce

  • ½ cup beef broth (can use low or no sodium)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Garnish

  • 2 Tablespoons fresh chopped parsley (optional, can use dried)

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Cook 10 ounces dried rotini pasta according to the package directions. Add a pinch of salt to the pasta water. Once cooked, drain and set aside while you prepare the sauce and beef.
  2. Cook Beef and Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 pound ground beef, ½ cup finely chopped onion, and 4 minced garlic cloves. Season with 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, and ½ teaspoon onion powder. Cook and crumble the beef until it is no longer pink and the onions are soft. Drain excess grease if necessary, then return the beef mixture to the skillet.
  3. Make the Sauce: To the skillet over medium heat, add ½ cup beef broth, 2 cups heavy cream, 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese, and 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning. Stir continuously and cook for 3-5 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked rotini pasta to the skillet with the sauce and beef. Stir well until the pasta is fully coated and combined with the sauce.
  5. Season and Garnish: Taste the pasta and adjust salt and pepper if needed. Optionally, stir in 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley for added freshness. Before serving, top with remaining parsley for garnish and enjoy your meal!

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half, though the sauce might be less thick.
  • Use low-sodium beef broth to better control the saltiness of the dish.
  • Fresh garlic gives the best flavor, but garlic powder adds extra depth.
  • To make this recipe gluten free, substitute the rotini pasta with a gluten-free pasta variety.
  • Chopping parsley finely before adding enhances the fresh herb aroma in the dish.
  • If desired, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
