Description
This buttery Garlic Herb Rice Pilaf is fluffy, fragrant, and packed with savory herbs. Made with jasmine rice, chicken broth, and a blend of garlic salt, thyme, rosemary, and parsley, it’s a quick and delicious side dish ready in just 20 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter with Olive Oil & Sea Salt
- 1 cup jasmine rice
- 1½ teaspoons garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 2 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Rinse the jasmine rice thoroughly under cool water using a fine-mesh strainer until the water runs clear.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the rinsed rice, garlic salt, thyme, rosemary, and parsley to the pan. Sauté for about 2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the rice is lightly toasted and fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to a simmer, stir once, then cover with a lid.
- Let cook for about 15 minutes or until the rice has absorbed all the liquid.
- Remove from heat, fluff with a fork, and serve warm.
Notes
- Be sure to rinse the rice well to remove excess starch for a fluffier result.
- Vegetable broth can be used instead of chicken broth for a vegetarian version.
- Add a squeeze of lemon juice or sprinkle of grated Parmesan for extra flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated on the stove or microwave.
