Description

This Easy Lipton Onion Soup Meatloaf is a flavorful and comforting American classic made with lean ground beef, Lipton Onion Soup Mix, and a tangy, sweet glaze. It’s simple to prepare and perfect for a satisfying family dinner.

Ingredients

Meatloaf

  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup chopped yellow onions
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Glaze

  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • 1 ½ tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 ½ tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a rimmed baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Mix the Meatloaf: In a large bowl, combine 2 lbs ground beef, 1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix, 2 beaten large eggs, 1 cup breadcrumbs, ¾ cup milk, ⅓ cup ketchup, 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, ½ cup chopped yellow onions, and 1 tsp black pepper. Use clean hands to gently mix everything until just combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the meatloaf tender.
  3. Shape and Bake: Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it on the prepared baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  4. Prepare the Glaze: While the meatloaf bakes, mix together ¾ cup ketchup, 1 ½ tsp white vinegar, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 2 ½ tsp brown sugar, 1 tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp onion powder, and ¼ tsp black pepper in a small bowl until well combined.
  5. Glaze the Meatloaf: After the initial 45 minutes of baking, remove the meatloaf from the oven. Spread the prepared glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Continue Baking: Return the glazed meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) ensuring it is cooked through.
  7. Rest: Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing to retain juices and make clean slices.

Notes

  • Don’t overmix the meat mixture to keep the meatloaf tender, not dense.
  • No additional salt is needed because the Lipton Onion Soup Mix contains enough seasoning.
  • Resting the meatloaf after baking is essential for juiciness and clean slices.
