Description
This recipe delivers crispy, golden gnocchi using an air fryer, perfect as a snack, side dish, or appetizer. Using simple ingredients like olive oil, garlic powder, and parmesan cheese, you can quickly create a crunchy yet tender gnocchi dish with minimal effort and time.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 lb gnocchi (shelf-stable, refrigerated, or frozen; regular, cauliflower, or sweet potato)
- 1 – 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 – 3 tbsp freshly grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) and lightly grease the basket with olive oil spray to prevent sticking.
- Season Gnocchi: In a large mixing bowl, toss the gnocchi with the olive oil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and freshly grated parmesan cheese. For frozen gnocchi, do not thaw before seasoning.
- Arrange in Basket: Place the seasoned gnocchi in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping to ensure even crisping.
- Air Fry Shelf-Stable & Refrigerated Gnocchi: Cook at 390°F for 11 to 14 minutes, shaking the basket every 4 to 5 minutes to promote even browning. Gnocchi is ready when the outside is golden and crispy but not burnt.
- Air Fry Frozen Gnocchi: Cook at 390°F for 13 to 16 minutes, shaking the basket every 4 to 5 minutes. Frozen gnocchi takes slightly longer but should be golden and crispy on the outside when done.
- Serve: Enjoy the crispy gnocchi immediately. Optionally garnish with extra parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. Serve as a side dish with your favorite main course, as an appetizer with marinara sauce or pesto for dipping, or use them as crunchy toppings on salads.
Notes
- Do not thaw frozen gnocchi before air frying for best texture.
- Shake the basket periodically to ensure even cooking and crisping on all sides.
- You can substitute regular gnocchi with cauliflower or sweet potato varieties for a different flavor and slight nutritional variation.
- Use freshly grated parmesan for best flavor and crispiness.
- Serve immediately for the best crispy texture, as gnocchi may soften if left to sit.
