Description

This vegan avocado mousse is a creamy, chocolatey dessert made with just six wholesome plant-based ingredients. Quick to prepare and kid-approved, it offers a rich yet healthy treat that can be whipped up in only 5 minutes.

  • 2 medium ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave syrup
  • 1 ½ tablespoons plant-based milk


Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Put the peeled and pitted avocados, salt, cocoa powder, sugar, maple syrup (or agave), and plant-based milk into a food processor.
  2. Blend Until Smooth: Process all ingredients together until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy with no lumps.
  3. Adjust Flavor: Taste the mousse and optionally add more cocoa powder or a pinch of espresso powder for deeper chocolate flavor, extra maple syrup or vanilla for sweetness, or a little more salt to balance flavors.
  4. Chill: Transfer the mousse to a container and refrigerate for about an hour to allow the flavors to develop and the texture to thicken before serving.

Notes

  • Don’t omit the salt! It perfectly balances and enhances the chocolate flavor.
  • Feel free to customize the flavor with extra cocoa, espresso powder, maple syrup, or a pinch of vanilla extract after blending.
  • Chilling the mousse for about an hour improves flavor and texture significantly.
