- 2 medium ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave syrup
- 1 ½ tablespoons plant-based milk
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Put the peeled and pitted avocados, salt, cocoa powder, sugar, maple syrup (or agave), and plant-based milk into a food processor.
- Blend Until Smooth: Process all ingredients together until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy with no lumps.
- Adjust Flavor: Taste the mousse and optionally add more cocoa powder or a pinch of espresso powder for deeper chocolate flavor, extra maple syrup or vanilla for sweetness, or a little more salt to balance flavors.
- Chill: Transfer the mousse to a container and refrigerate for about an hour to allow the flavors to develop and the texture to thicken before serving.
Notes
- Don’t omit the salt! It perfectly balances and enhances the chocolate flavor.
- Feel free to customize the flavor with extra cocoa, espresso powder, maple syrup, or a pinch of vanilla extract after blending.
- Chilling the mousse for about an hour improves flavor and texture significantly.
