Description

This Cinnamon Glaze is a quick and easy sweet topping perfect for drizzling over your favorite baked goods. With a warm hint of cinnamon and a smooth, glossy finish, it enhances muffins, cakes, and pastries with minimal effort in just five minutes.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • small pinch of kosher salt
  • 1 Tablespoon very hot water (you may not need it all)

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients and Butter: In a medium bowl, combine the ground cinnamon, powdered sugar, and a small pinch of kosher salt. Add the melted unsalted butter and whisk or mix until the butter begins to form small clumps with the dry ingredients. The mixture will look a bit clumpy and unusual at this stage, which is perfectly normal.
  2. Add Hot Water Gradually: Slowly add the very hot water one teaspoon at a time, stirring well after each addition. Continue this process until you achieve your desired glaze consistency. You may not need the full tablespoon.
  3. Drizzle and Set: Drizzle the cinnamon glaze over cooled baked goods such as muffins, cakes, or pastries. Allow the glaze to set by letting it rest at room temperature for about an hour so it firms up beautifully before serving.

Notes

  • Use very hot water to help dissolve the powdered sugar and smooth out the glaze more easily.
  • If the glaze is too thick, add a little more hot water, a teaspoon at a time.
  • If glaze gets too thin, add a bit more powdered sugar to thicken.
  • Best applied on fully cooled baked goods to prevent melting and maintain glaze texture.
  • Store any leftover glaze in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir well before reuse.
