Description
This Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding is a rich, comforting dessert made with buttery brioche bread, creamy custard, and plenty of chocolate chips. Baked until golden on top and soft inside, it’s the perfect indulgent treat to enjoy warm, straight from the oven.
Ingredients
- 14 oz brioche bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Cut brioche bread into 1/2-inch cubes.
- Layer half of the bread cubes in the dish. Sprinkle with half the semi-sweet and half the milk chocolate chips.
- Add the remaining bread cubes on top, followed by the remaining chocolate chips.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread cubes. Press down gently with a spatula to ensure all the bread is soaked.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the custard.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Remove the plastic wrap and bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
- For extra decadence, drizzle with chocolate sauce or serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
- You can substitute challah or French bread if brioche isn’t available.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the oven or microwave and taste great the next day.
