Ingredients
Peanut Sauce Ingredients
- 1/2 cup natural, unsweetened peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce (use tamari or coconut aminos for gluten-free option)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce (adjust more or less to taste)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 3 garlic cloves, pressed or grated
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger root, grated
- 2-4 tablespoons warm water
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, low sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, chili garlic sauce, lime juice, pressed garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk all ingredients thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
- Adjust Consistency: Gradually add warm water, one tablespoon at a time, whisking continuously. Add 2 tablespoons of water for a thick dipping sauce consistency, or up to 4 tablespoons for a thinner dressing consistency. Whisk until the sauce reaches your desired texture.
Notes
- Use natural unsweetened peanut butter to avoid excessive sweetness. If using conventional peanut butter, reduce brown sugar to 1 tablespoon to balance sweetness.
- Adjust chili garlic sauce quantity to control the spiciness of the sauce.
- This sauce can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to one week. Stir well before each use.
- Perfect served with chicken satay, as a peanut dressing for salads, or tossed with noodles.
