Description

Ingredients

  • For the Apple Filling:
  • 8 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced ¼-inch thick
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • For the Topping:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅔ cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare apples: In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with ½ cup sugar and cinnamon. Taste and add more sugar if apples are very tart. Layer apples into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Make topping: In a medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and eggs until mixture forms coarse crumbs.
  4. Top the apples with crumb mixture. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the crumb topping.
  5. Bake for 45–60 minutes, or until topping is golden brown.
  6. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
